Raising
Compassionate Kids

This 6-Week program adapts the teachings from Julia's 6-Week Compassion Immersion for the purpose of raising compassionate children. Led by Jeanine VanSise, this annual program runs next from Month Date Year to Month Date Year.

About this program
(a note from Jeanine)

In 2021, I joined Julia’s 6-Week Compassion Immersion for the first time. Throughout the
course, and in the months following, the way I taught and interacted with my students began to naturally shift in beautiful ways.

As a result, I began adapting the lessons from the Compassion Immersion for my work with young children. My preschool’s curriculum is now centered around teaching children about compassion.

Recently, a routine inspection specialist told me that my school was the kindest program he has ever visited. It wasn’t a generic “your school is so kind” comment, but an observation I could tell he truly meant. And it wasn't the first time I've heard such heartwarming and encouraging remarks. These practices have an impact.

Now, through this program, I'm delighted to share these ideas and tools with other teachers and parents who want to raise children rooted in the beauty, power, and peace of mind of a compassionate way of being.

This 6-week program currently caters to parents and teachers of children aged X to X. As this program grows, we will adapt the teachings to other age groups.

(Julia's 6-Week Compassion Immersion is a prerequisite to this course, because raising compassionate kids requires developing self-compassion first. If you haven't completed that course, please enroll in the next run here.)

This course is for you if

  • You're curious about the profound effect your own inner work can have on the way you teach and/or parent.

  • You want to help raise compassionate kids.

  • You want your children to grow up in soil that is rich in love, compassion, and understanding.

  • You want to be a model of compassion for the children in your life.

  • You want to bring more awareness to how you react to your child’s big emotions, and learn tools for being with your children in these moments.

  • You want your child to feel loved just for being alive.

  • You would like to find ways to avoid passing along painful beliefs, which may have been passed down in your family for generations, to your child.

  • You want a healthy alternative to using punishment as a form of guidance or discipline with the children in your life.

  • You would like to learn how to include your child in an age-appropriate meditation practice.

How this course works

  • We'll meet on a weekly Zoom call on Sundays, from 9 - 10am PT, for 6 weeks starting Date. (Convert your time zone here.) This means our call dates will be date date date date date.

  • Each week, prior to our Zoom call, you'll revisit a specific call recording from your Compassion Immersion course, which will be shared in our community portal. When we meet on Sunday, we'll discuss how Julia’s teachings and insights can be tailored to your work with children.

  • Our calls are recorded so you can listen back to them anytime if you miss any, or if you simply want to re-listen.

  • Through our private community portal, you may connect with other parents and teachers to discuss your process and ideas. Your access to this valuable community will continue for as long as you'd like after the program has been completed.
